....I don't really know why, or what the purpose of a blog is. However, I think that I'm suppose to write something...soooo....I'll start with a background of what we've been up to. I've been taking pictures for many years...ever since my Dad gave me a Nikon film camera in high school. Last year (spring '07) before traveling to Oregon, I thought it would be worth it to invest in a decent camera for documenting our journey. While in Oregon I was enjoying taking pictures so much that I decided I'd dedicate much of my time to learning about the art and business of photography. With the much needed assistance of Danielle (who I couldn't possibly thank enough), we have created a website (DeshlerPhotography.com)....thanks to Danielle, who learned web design on her own in order to create our site...we've also had a few pictures published in some local newspapers, and learned to mat and frame prints to an archival standard on our own. We are also currently attempting to sell images to magazines that relate to our photographic interests and our active lifestyle. All this while we both work full-time jobs for the State of VT in the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Well, I think I'm done with my first blog....check back soon, I'm sure after some blogging experience things will get a little more interesting. Peace, Jim

Well, reading the blog and living through the photographs helped me to do exactly what Danielle did...shrug off worries, enjoy the beauty of nature (albeit from afar)and live in this moment! So many beautiful photos, but the simplicity of the leaf is my absolute favorite.
